How to Bridge Funds OUT of Arbitrum back to Mainnet
This article will be the easiest tutorial on how to withdraw funds from Arbitrum and onto Ethereum mainnet.
Step 1. Make sure you have enough ETH on both Arbitrum and mainnet to pull out your funds. You should have at least $10 USD worth of ETH on Mainnet and about $5 USD worth on Arbitrum.
Step 2. Make sure the token you want to bridge actually exists on mainnet. You can not bridge obscure meme coin derivatives you bought on Arbitrum to mainnet if there is no liquidity… to keep things easy, simply sell such coins and convert to ETH.
Step 3. Now that you have enough ETH on both Arbitrum and mainnet for gas fees, you can initiate the transfer. Simply select the chain to be going From Arbitrum and Into Mainnet, then select the token you wish to bridge (USDC/ETH/etc)
Step 4. Now you can choose if you want to do things the long and safe way, or the fast and not-so-safe way. I’ve only used the safe method so it’s what I’ll teach you, sadly this takes about 8–9 days to complete.
Step 5. Now you just confirm the transactions in Metamask and let the blockchain do it’s thing!
Step 6. Hopefully by now your calendar’s notified you to check your withdrawal, switch back to Mainnet under your metamask chains.
Then, at the top right of the Arbitrum bridge you should see your funds waiting. This will be the final gas fee you pay to claim funds.
And that’s it! You’ve successfully moved your Arbitrum funds over to Ethereum mainnet.
